Abstract

Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) is employed as the active switching element for wavelength routing and attenuation in a Wavelength Selective Switch. Additional functionalities such as power sharing, monitoring and channel contouring are able to be demonstrated simply and cost effectively.
