Optimal Control of Tunable PMD Compensator Using Random Step Size Hill-Climbing Method

Abstract

We propose a search control method of PMD compensator to decrease the possibility being trapped at local maxima. Transmission simulations at 160 Gb/s show that the method controls PMD compensator more optimally than conventional method.
