Dispersion Penalty Mitigation Using Polarization Mode Multiplexing in Phase Diverse Analog Optical Links

Abstract

Polarization mode multiplexing of phase diverse Mach-Zehnder modulator outputs to mitigate dispersion penalty in band limited analog optical links and related systems is demonstrated. Link SNR is also improved by up to 3dB.
