Multi-Band Mode Filter for Shorter Wavelength Region Transmission over Conventional SMF

Abstract

A coupler type mode filter (MF) is proposed that provides higher order mode reduction at both 780 and 850 nm. A 10 Gbit/s, 870 m long transmission is demonstrated over a SMF by using the MF.
