Resource Buffering Schemes for Dynamic Traffic Grooming in Wavelength-Routed WDM Mesh Networks

Abstract

We propose novel resource buffering (RB) schemes at two granularity levels for dynamic traffic grooming. Continuous-time system (CTS) simulation shows that the RB schemes achieve better network utilization and significantly reduce the blocking probability.
