Reconfigurable Optical Networks: Is It Worth?

Abstract

A fundamental question to address is what levels of traffic fluctuations may justify the deployment of reconfigurable optical networks. Based on a flow model, this study provides a preliminary answer for IP/MPLS over WDM networks.
