Achieving Optimal Lightpath Scheduling in Survivable WDM Mesh Networks

Abstract

Periodic backup reoptimization over the holding time of scheduled traffic is proposed in shared-path-protected optical networks. Numerical results show that over 9% savings in the average spare capacity consumption are achieved for some demand instances.
