MMF Transmission of Directly-Modulated 40-Gb/s Signal using Mode-Field Matched Center-Launching Technique

Abstract

We demonstrate the transmission of the directly-modulated 40-Gb/s signal over 4 km of MMF by using the mode-field matched center-launching technique. The results show that the maximum reach can be extended to the chromatic-dispersion limit.
