Comparison of 30 Gbit/s Coherent 8PSK Single Carrier and OFDM Multi Carrier Systems with Respect to Transmission Reach

Abstract

We investigated the achievable transmission distance for various OFDM setups in comparison to an 8PSK single carrier system in a single channel scenario. The single carrier system turns out to achieve a longer transmission distance.
