Improved Reflection Tolerance by Near-Threshold Operation of DFB Seed Light for a 80km Reach Loop-Back WDM-PON

Abstract

Reflection tolerance was improved for long-reach WDM-PON by operating DFB seed-light near its threshold region. With such a spectrally broadened seed light, error-free transmission over 80km fiber reach was demonstrated under -32dB reflection.
