Unidirectionally spun fibers for efficient narrow-band parametric amplification

Abstract

Narrow-band optical fiber parametric amplifiers realized by randomly birefringent and unidirectionally spun fibers are numerically studied. Fast spinning reduces random birefringence effects, enhances the gain and reduces gain fluctuations.
