Abstract

An electrical post-compensation scheme for semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) nonlinearity has been proposed. A 1310 nm on-off keying transmission system was demonstrated with SOA nonlinearity compensation. An 8 dB improvement in Q-factor has been achieved.
