Abstract

PMD compensation for 40Gb/s Apol RZ-DPSK is successfully demonstrated using different feedback methods. Eye-opening feedback exhibits the lowest penalty. Experiments indicate a mean PMD tolerance of 5.3 ps for an outage probability of 10−5.
