Abstract

We demonstrate a new monitoring technique based on the homodyne detection and the asynchronous delay-tap sampling method. In principle, the proposed technique can monitor the multiple impairments of the optical signal, regardless of its modulation format, by evaluating both the amplitude and phase distributions.
