Polarization Beamforming MIMO-based PON: 20 Gb/s Transmission over a 10 Gb/s System with Dynamic Power Allocation and ~1.8 dB Improved Reach

Abstract

We report the first experimental demonstration of a low-complexity polarization multiplexing PON architecture, achieving twice the downstream throughput, dynamic power allocation, and improving loss budget up to ~1.8 dB based on MIMO polarization beamforming.
