Gain Enhancement by ASE Suppression in Er-doped All-Solid Microstructured Fiber

Abstract

An Er-doped all-solid microstructured fiber with an enhanced gain of 1.8 dB at 1.60 μm is successfully demonstrated by introducing the high-index periodic structure to filter out the ASE shorter than 1.56 μm.
