A Linear Model for Nonlinear Phase Noise Induced by Cross-phase Modulation

Abstract

A simplified linear model is developed to predict nonlinear phase noise induced by cross-phase modulation (XPM). The simplified model shows good agreement with experiment and provides various insights on XPM phenomena.
