Implementation of burst-mode optical amplification for WDM application; overpumping with GFF vs LOA hybrid

Abstract

We demonstrated two types of implementation of burst-mode amplifier for WDM. Both amplifiers successfully maintained gain flatness in spite of dynamic change of input power according to traffic density. Noise figure and cost was trade-off.
