Single-Channel 1-Tb/s Transmission over 480 km DMF for Future Terabit Ethernet Systems

Abstract

We present a single-channel 1-Tb/s transmission system based exclusively on semiconductor pulse sources. By using alternating polarization RZ-DQPSK modulation a record transmission length of 480-km dispersion managed fiber is achieved.
