Optical Wavelength Multicasting Based on Four Wave Mixing in Highly Nonlinear Fiber with Reduced Polarization Sensitivity

Abstract

Using three co-polarized probes and a pump modulated signal, seven multicasting channels with 100-GHz spacing are demonstrated. The conversion efficiency fluctuation due to polarization sensitivity is reduced from more than 20 dB to 5 dB.
