Polar Coordinate Transformation based Dual Binary-Drive QPSK Modulation

Abstract

QPSK signal generation by a dual binary-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator employing polar coordinate transformation was experimentally demonstrated for cost-effective digital coherent transceivers. Tolerance to a bias and driving voltage error is discussed for practical implementation.
