Abstract

We propose and demonstrate a simple RZ transmitter based on incoherent-light-injected FP-LD which improves the dispersion tolerance by a factor of 1.5. Thanks to wide timing margin between adjacent bits, we successfully transmit incoherent 1.25-Gb/s signals over 45 km of SSMF.
