Distributed Characterization of Bending-Induced Birefringence in Spun Fibers by means of P-OFDR

Abstract

We report, for the first time, spatially-resolved measurements of bending-induced birefringence in ad hoc drawn single-mode spun fibers. The combined effect of spin rotation and bending birefringence is clearly highlighted.
