Bandwidth Measurement of Multimode Fibers through System Level Bit Error Rate Testing

Abstract

A new bandwidth measurement method for multimode fibers is developed through measuring bit error rate and power penalty associated with the testing system. Experimental calibration procedure and actual fiber measurement results are presented.
