Abstract

A novel optical burst ring network is proposed by employing fixed-tuned transmitters rather than fast tunable lasers. All-optical traffic aggregation/bypass at network nodes significantly reduces the network cost, and both wavelength and dynamically-adjusted sub-wavelength granularity can be flexibly provisioned on the optical layer.
