A novel type of hybrid plasmonic waveguide with low-loss and high confinement

A novel type of plasmonic waveguide consists of periodic metallic gratings sandwiched at the core-cladding interfaces is proposed. Long propagation distances over hundreds of micrometer, subwavelength mode width and high confinement factor are achieved.
