Push-Pull Technique for Defragmentation in Flexible Optical Networks

Abstract

An efficient defragmentation technique based on optical channel re-tuning is proposed for flexible optical networks. Effective defragmentation with no traffic disruption is achieved without additional spare transponders or re-equalization operations.
