Mechanically Induced SOP Variations in DSCMs Related to Fiber PMD

Abstract

SOP variation speed in fiber-based dispersion compensating modules due to mechanical perturbations like shocks and forced vibrations are shown not increase with an increasing PMD level and thus the birefringence of the fiber.
