DWDM Optical line-side interoperability

Abstract

Line-side interoperability of colored 100G transponders in DWDM systems between two different vendors will become a reality in the near future. With modern modulation formats (phase, polarization and post processing) and existing standards, optical interface technologies can deliver reliable transmission over more than 600km. That is the sweet spot for most of the metro and regional deployments.
