Abstract

DP-DQDB (Quaternary Duobinary) and DP-DQPSK with Nyquist pulse shaping, both with coherent reception, are compared w.r.t. the achievable spectral efficiency when employed as closely packed subcarriers of a superchannel without optical filtering of the subchannels.
