Abstract

We propose a spectrally efficient upstream configuration for WDM-PONs where multi-wavelength channels are demodulated using a single coherent receiver by periodically shifting the local light wavelength. The feasibility is confirmed based on a 2 × 1.5-Gbit/s WDM experiment.
