Reconfigurable all-optical Discrete Fourier Transform in a Wavelength Selective Switch for Optical OFDM demultiplexing

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate that a multi-output optical DFT can be implemented using a LCOS-based wavelength-selective switch. This enables high-spectral efficiency OFDM systems to be implemented optically, potentially overcoming limitations in electronic processing.
