Pattern Effect Suppression Technique of Synchronized Gain-Clamping Light Injection for Downstream SOA in Optically-Amplified PON Systems

Abstract

Simple technique that combines synchronized-GC light injection with complementary signal pattern is proposed to completely suppress the pattern effect and greatly improve the extinction ratio in the downstream SOA of an optically-amplified PON system.
