Comparison of PS-QPSK and PM-QPSK at Different Data Rates in a 25 GHz-spaced WDM System

Abstract

We compare polarization-switched QPSK and polarization-multiplexed QPSK in a WDM system with 25 GHz channel spacing. We investigate experimentally the transmission distance as a function of the data rate for both modulation formats.
