Novel cellular optical access network and convergence with FTTH

Abstract

Base station cooperation and infrastructure sharing are highly desirable features in future mobile access networks. We discuss the requirements they pose with regard to the optical network technologies which are likely to be deployed to support these upcoming mobile operator demands.
