Abstract

We demonstrate 50-km upstream transmission of 2.5-Gbps RSOA signals carried at 6- GHz subcarrier over a single-fiber loopback network. Subcarrier multiplexing reduces the deleterious effects of Rayleigh back-scattering, which is confirmed by comparison with baseband transmission.
