A 40-Gbps OFDM LR-PON System over 100-km Fiber Employing an Economical 10-GHz-based Transceiver

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a superior performance of at least 40-Gbps OFDM-signal transmission over 20~100-km long-reach PONs, which is achieved by using a 10-GHz EAM and direct detection, and adopting the bit-loading algorithm.
