Transmission Performance of Chirp-Controlled Signal Emitted by Electroabsorption Modulator Laser Integrated with a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

Abstract

Control of chirp parameter in a fully integrated EML-SOA chip based on InGaAlAs MQW technology is investigated. Transmission at 10 Gbit/s over 100 km of conventional SMF was obtained by optimizing signal chirp at emission.
