High-Stability Phase-Coded RF Pulses for Coherent Radars from a Mode-Locking Laser

Abstract

A novel scheme for photonic generation of phase-coded RF signals in coherent radars allows pulse-compression techniques exploiting an optical I/Q modulator, reducing system complexity. Results show superior phase-stability and quadrupled resolution.
