M4 Services for Software-Defined Passive Optical Network and Mobile Backhaul Applications Using Multicore Fiber

Abstract

We present the first M4 services (Multilevel modulation-format through Multimode, Multicore fiber for Multiple services) for access software-defined network and mobile backhaul applications. We experimentally demonstrate 12 different wired/wireless services simultaneously over one fiber.
