Coherent Detection of a 32-Point 6PolSK-QPSK Modulation Format

Abstract

we report a new 4-dimensional (4D) 6PolSK-QPSK modulation format which carries 32 constellation points and 5 bits per symbol. It can be used as an alternative to PM-QPSK and PM-8QAM in a flexible-rate coherent modem.
