Ultrafast Absolute Ranging by Coherent Parametric Comb

Abstract

A new technique for fast, high-precision ranging is presented. The method utilized multi-tone heterodyning of dual phase-locked parametric combs. A 1.5-µm accuracy and 500ns capture time is demonstrated for the first time in LIDAR vibrometry.
