High Isolation in Silicon Waveguide Optical Isolator Employing Nonreciprocal Phase Shift

A silicon nanowire waveguide optical isolator employing nonreciprocal phase shift is fabricated by directly bonding a magneto-optical garnet Ce:YIG. An optical isolation of 28 dB is obtained at a wavelength of 1552 nm.
