Bistable Switching Operation in a Si Sampled Grating Waveguide with Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals Cladding

Abstract

A Si sampled grating waveguide with a ferro-electric liquid crystal cladding was proposed and fabricated. The bistable switching operation of the fabricated device, which was latched without state-sustaining power, was demonstrated.
