Multi-layer Restoration - The Impact on the Optical Layer

Abstract

Multi-layer resilience including optical restoration against optical failures and backup interfaces provisioned against port failures is considered from an operator’s perspective. This approach saves 25%-30% of the IP links in Deutsche Telekom’s core network.
