448 Gbit/s DP-16QAM Transmission Using Integrated Tunable CMOS Laser Sources

Abstract

We demonstrate 448 Gbit/s transmission using CMOS silicon photonic, hybrid-integrated, full-band tunable lasers as transmit and local oscillator for 28 GBaud DP-16QAM. Marginal system performance differences were measured when compared with conventional commercially available lasers, proving suitability for coherent applications.
