Abstract

We generate a 128-Gb/s polarization-division-multiplexed 4-level amplitude-pulse modulation (PDM-4PAM) signal with electroabsorption modulators and transmit it over 960-km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) using digital coherent detection with 20% overhead soft-decision forward-error-correction.
