Joint Bandwidth Provisioning and Cache Management for Video Distribution in Software-Defined Passive Optical Networks

Abstract

We propose joint bandwidth provisioning and base station caching for video delivery in software-defined PONs. Performance evaluation via custom simulation models reveals 30% increase in served video requests and 50% reduction in service response delays.
