Low-cost, Degree-expandable and Contention-free ROADM Architecture Based on M × N WSS

Abstract

We present a low-cost contention-free ROADM architecture based on M×N WSS. A novel degree-expanding method is proposed. We show a cost saving of up to 69% over traditional MCS-based CDC-ROADM for degree-expandable application.
