Intermediate Mode Interchange for Reduction of Differential Mode-Group Delay in Weakly-Coupled 6-Mode Fiber Transmission Line

Abstract

Intermediate mode interchange using low-crosstalk mode multiplexer/demultiplexer in a 6 mode-division multiplexed transmission line has been demonstrated. We experimentally confirmed the reduction of differential mode group delay and tap size in 12×12 MIMO equalizer.
